FS and Quincy Jones joined to record the album L.A. Is My Lady in New York City at A&M studios. Songs: “Until the Real Thing Comes Along,” “After You’ve Gone” and “L.A. Is My Lady.”

In the Dominican Republic he gave a concert that was later shown on U.S. television as The Concert for the Americas.

DECEMBER 12, 1979

FS celebrates 40 years in show business on his 64th birthday with a huge celebration at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

OCTOBER 13, 1974

At Madison Square Garden, “The Main Event” was staged in a boxing ring and hosted by sportscaster Howard Cosell. The show was broadcast live around the world. Album “The Main Event” followed.

MARCH 15, 1966

FS wins 3 Grammy Awards: Album of the Year for “September of My Years,” Best Male Vocal Performance for “It Was A Very Good Year,” and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award

JUNE 20, 1965

Frank organized a “summit meeting” of the Rat Pack in St. Louis (hosted by Johnny Carson) as a benefit for Dismas House of St. Louis. It aired on a closed-circuit TV transmission under the title “The Frank Sinatra Spectacular.”
