Hollywood came calling, as it always did for stars of his magnitude. For Sinatra, who had always acted in his songs, the transition was natural; before long, he said, acting became “second nature,” and accolades (and an Oscar) followed.
After reporters kept calling him and his Rat Pack pals “The Clan,” Sinatra issued a press release. “I am fortunate to have many friends and many circles of friends,” he said, “but there are no membership cards.”
