About This Gallery
Hollywood came calling, as it always did for stars of his magnitude. For Sinatra, who had always acted in his songs, the transition was natural; before long, he said, acting became “second nature,” and accolades (and an Oscar) followed.
Sinatra recorded Cole Porter’s “Night and Day” six times between 1942 and 1977, but the 1961 version on Greatest Love Songs marks the only time he sang the song’s opening verse.
