I saw Frank live in London three times.
The first time was in the Royal Albert Hall.
I was trying to find out by careful study of the evening
what all the fuss was about for Frank's singing.
He was great for the first few numbers, then he really got into
it as sang "Chicago".
He was using a long lead and was walking from side to side on the stage
singing to everybody including those of us who were behind him.
He ended up over by the string section of the orchestra and was gradually
building up the song as he sang it.
Suddenly the hairs on the back of my neck stood up!
The atmosphere in the hall became electic...we all felt the power.
On the last note he swished his hand across...." CHICAGO"...to stop the orchestra dead.
The bloody roof must have lifted off with the roar!
He had us all where he wanted us and then he relaxed totally.
The rest of that evening for pure magical art.
Barry.

Great description, Barry - makes that moment come alive!

"My Kind Of Town (Chicago Is)" sure was one of Sinatra's biggest stage songs, whenever he sang it, he performed it superbly.
