Sinatra Sings Sinatra

June 13- 24th was the Rochester International Jazz festival and Frank Sinatra Jr. was the main attraction; Sinatra sings Sinatra, on opening day. When most performers faced with the situation he faced that night, they probably would have cancelled. The main situation was that his conductor didn't make it there. As cool as he is, he just went on anyways and conducted himself, asking the crowd to be forgiving. Well, not only did he pull it off, he sounded better than ever. The best part of the concert was the fact that he sang 2 surprise songs. One was a song that Frank Sr. was to record and never had a chance to. The second was written on the song writer's death bed who felt that the song should be sung by Sinatra. I think he said it was Johnny Mercer but I'm not sure.
Anyways, it was a great evening with a great orchestra and Sinatra's arrangements by the greatest writers and arrangers. If you have a chance to catch his show, please treat yourself.
