Reply to Maria,
The song she likes so much "How Old Am I?" is from a 1965 thematic album by Frank dealing with the Autumn of our lives. Album-CD is "September of My Years" & the last I heard you can get the original album on its CD version with the blue-green cover & Stan Corwyn notes without having to get the expensive CD Reprise compilation.
Wow, the songs on this album are more identifiable as one advances in age,"September Song","Don't Wait Too Long," "This Is All I Ask", "I See It Now," & "When the Wind Was Green" a vintage collection of songs by Kurt Weill,Gordon Jenkins, & Sammy Cahn,Jimmy VanHeusen. The season of Fall songs are among the most beautiful written with metaphors contained of our own lives.

Sinatra referenced in songs

I am aware of five songs that reference Frank Sinatra by name. They may be a bit obscure but 4 out of the 5 are available on i-tunes. They are "ON AND ON" by Steven Bishop...."WE LOVE YOU" by the Psychedelic Furs...."TEEN ANGST" by Cracker...."THERE THERE MY DEAR" by Dexy's Midnight Runners....and "THE DEVIL IS MY FRIEND" by the Jazz Butcher. Can anyone add to this list?

Sinatra Name in Song Lyric

One that Vallante 51 missed was an 80's song done by an English group whose name I don't know, but the title of song is "Life In A Northern Town" & the lyric goes approximately "like Sinatra in a younger day, Life in a Northern town". This song is well-produced & recorded. If anyone has Digital Music channels on Cable, one can pick up a lot of facts about Sinatra,e.g., the 80's group "Frankie Goes to Hollywood"(Relax,Don't Do It) took its group name from newspaper headline about Sinatra going to the West Coast to make his first movie. there's other Sinatra references in song lyrics of the 40's that older fans might know.

"Sinatra 65"

Depends on if it's original or a re-issue. I'm not sure if that album was reprinted in the 70's or not? Anyway, a mono original would probably fetch 60$, whereas a sealed Stereo would probably fetch 30$ or so.

I would hang onto it personally. Sinatra's vinyl is catching fire at the moment, and bidding on eBay is getting more heavy. Also, his sections in record stores are no longer over flowing. I would actually advise collecting Sinatra vinyl as an investment right now also. It is my experience and intuition that tells me Sinatra vinyl will equal Elvis and the Beatles in collectability ( and dollar value) in the next five years.

The Martin Scorsese movie will be a big deal, and that will create a LOT of new fans. Which in turn will bring on new collectors. With vinyl getting popular again, it is likely they'll be after it.
