Hey, fellow Sinatra lovers! I'm very curious about this certain subject, but I haven't been able to find anything on it ANYWHERE. So, maybe one of you guys (or gals) could help me. Mr. S. used a lot of microphones in his career. But I'm curious to know which make and model the microphone is which he used from about the late 1970's to the mid-1980's. You'll know which one I mean. It's the one he uses in his 1985 Tokyo concert. Very shiny (probably chromed), sleek, long, and with a gold windscreen. After that microphone, for some reason, he abandoned it for a thick, black, battery-powered microphone from the late '80's up until his final retirement. So what kind was the shiny one I was talking about? I'm really curious, since it was so beautiful, and had a rich, full sound. Just wondering. If anyone knows, could you please respond to this little (Yeah, sure.)paragraph, or e-mail me at mr.s_1992@hotmail.com? (My last name is Stockslager, so 'mr.s' actually makes sense. Muahahaha.) Anyway, if anyone answers back, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, folks. :D

Chris, you may have your answer by now, since its been a couple of months since you first asked the question. If you haven't already done so, please consult Charles L. Granata's very informative book "Sessions With Sinatra." Published in 1999, there IS some technical information on microphones contained therein. Also, you may want to explore an outstanding website at www.sinatrafamilyforum.com. This website, administered by Nancy Sinatra, has some incredibly knowledgeable people "on staff" to answer just about anything about all things Sinatra. I consider it the "benchmark for the truth" when it comes to questions regarding Mr. Sinatra and his incredible recording career.
