THE RAT PACK'S MASCOT!!

I remember reading somewhere that The Rat Pack actually had its beginnings with Humphrey Bogart and his lovely wife, Lauren Bacall. Several Hollywood luminaries would all meet at Bogey's house on occasion and have a soiree. Sometime after Mr. Bogart's death in 1957, Frank Sinatra became the leader of The Rat Pack. For a time, Shirley MacLaine was the "official" mascot to The Rat Pack. Details here are sketchy, but there are many resources available for the complete story.

It is a little more complex

It is a little more complex than that, actually... a main thing that I think should always be mentioned (since so many bogus stuff about that is written on the web) is that Sinatra, Dean, Sammy and the rest of the "Clan" in the late 50s/early 60s (including Shirley MacLaine) never referred to themselves as Rat Pack (only the press did), nor did they appreciate the term; they called their joint appearances "The Summit". Of course, they had their stage routine referring to each other repeatedly as "you dirty rat".

Frank emulated Bogie so much that when Bogie passed away,Frank was devestated to the extent that he couldn't attend Bogie's funeral. There is a picture in the early 50's of Bogie,Lauren Bacall, & fellow actors Richard Conte(Ocean's 11 & Film Noir), & others marching in Hollywood against McCarthyism & the Hollywood blacklist from the House on Un-American Activities Committee.I saw picture @ constitution exhibit @ the Phila. Constitution Center 8 yrs. ago. Picture is an embryonic look of group that later became(excuse the term)Rat Pack.
has anyone seen this picture?
