Have you Heard Sinatra Live?

I had met Frank Sinatra in 1976 at the Westchester Premier Theatre in Upper NYS. I won a contest (called Violets For Your Furs" ) sponsored by William B. Williams on WNEW NYC, a very Sinatra station. William B. Originated Frank's being known as the "Chairman of the Board". We heard Frank live 12 times and they were magical events. I would love to hear about your live Frank Concerts.

Wow, must have been a great experience to see FS at that engagement, he was in such great voice again at the period.

Me being from Germany and rather young (in 1976, I was but 10), I got very lucky (I think) that Sinatra had such staying power and continued to perform well into the 80s and early 90s. First time I saw him live was in 1986 in Italy, when I was still rather new to Sinatra music, and his show knocked me out completely - it finally turned me into the "die-heart" fan I still am today. I next saw him in 1987 when he came to Italy again, then in 1989 at the Ultimate Event (with Liza and Sammy) in Paris, in London in 1990 (Docklands) and 1992 (Royal Albert Hall), in-between was the 1991 Diamond Jubilee Tour - and then of course we had the great pleasure of Sinatra doing an entire German tour in early summer 1993, five shows, all of which I attended.

Golden memories, all of them, none of which I would give away even for a billion dollars. He was simply the best.

Bernhard.

Hi Bernhard,

You had the wonderful experiences that I did. Welcome to the fabulous world of Sinatra music. I want to tell you that I have an internet radio program called "Jazz Spotlight on Sinatra'. It is at www.live365.com/stations/nancyann3839. It streams 24/7 is 6/12 hours long and I change it every week. I play Sinatra and jazz musicians and singers who have recorded the great standards. Please tune in and send me an email with your feedback. Best regards, Nancianne

I was lucky enough to See Frank in Concert at least 6 times from the early 1980's ( when I was in my early 20's) uo until his last concert in NJ at the Art Center. I will bnever forget his performance in 1991 at the Sands though for as long as I live. My friend Steve and I were not only able to get the tickets but luck enough to get a table at the foot of the stage. When Frank came out there was no introduction . All you heard was Come Fly With Me and then there was the man and the voice. It still brings chills to me . He was in such great voice that night. He sang all the great songs we all know and love . Summer Wind, Best Is Yet to Come, Carosel, LUck Be lady Tonight. MY friend and I were swinging along with him and having a great time. He looked at us and me a number of times that evening . I think he was surprised to see to 20 somethings sitting in the front and knowing the words to each and every song. He even smiled and winked at us both. Natuarlly when all was said and done he received a well deserved standing ovation and he waled from one end of the stag to the other shaking hands. He came right to me and smiled and winked and said Marvelous and smiled and walked away. He was the master. His fans loved and love him and he loved us . I know that personally
